Georges Seurat
Georges Seurat (1859–1891) was a French painter and one of the most important artists in Pointillism and Neo-Impressionism. He is particularly known for his unique painting technique where he used small dots of pure colors instead of regular brushstrokes. When viewed from a distance, the dots blend together to form clear shapes and colors.
Seurat studied art at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he developed an interest in color theory and how the eye perceives colors. His most famous work is A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte (1884–1886), a painting depicting people relaxing in a park by the river. The painting is one of the most famous examples of Pointillism.
