Paul Gustave Fischer (1860–1934) was a Danish painter, known as one of the most prominent portrayers of urban life in Copenhagen around the turn of the century. He came from a family of painters and craftsmen, and his life and work were closely linked to modern metropolitan life, which he documented with both realism and evocative poetry.
